eFAR is hosted on a SPAHP server that is backed up nightly. All data entered into eFAR is stored in a secured Microsoft SQL database which permits access to only you and your department chair. The only exception is the data stored in the Scholarly Activities section which is also available to the Associate Dean for Research for report generation purposes.
Who was eFAR created for and why?
eFAR was created for the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions faculty to provide a mechanism for documenting faculty activity in a manner that facilitates reporting of activities for annual performance reviews as well as other annual reports required of the School.
One of the key objectives of eFAR is to remove the dependency of the paper-based activity reports so there is a consistent electronic data capture format to streamline reporting.
Why should I use it?
- Central location to store all activity information for faculty members
- Can be shared with other faculty members and department chair
- Provides easy reporting
- Provide the foundation to allow faculty members to create CV’s and other reports to be available in version 2
- Secure access anywhere, anytime
Transitioning from eFAR version 1 to eFAR version 2:
- Data from eFAR version 1 will be imported into eFAR version 2 during the fall 2009 semester
- If you have already started entering your 2009 data into eFAR version 1, you may continue to use eFAR version 1 until October 1, 2009 at which time eFAR version 1 will be closed to further editing. eFAR version 2 is available for use immediately.
- If you have not entered data into eFAR version 1 for 2009, please use eFAR version 2 to enter your data documenting your activities for your annual activity report.
- Current access permissions give individual faculty the ability to access only their own data; department chairs the ability to access the data for all the faculty in their department; and the Dean the ability to access to all data
- Other SPAHP administrators seeking access to eFAR data must contact Dr. Bradberry.
- Several pre-formatted reports are available, if other reports are needed we are able to add those to the application for no additional cost
- Additional data collection fields are able to be added to the application. Requests for additional fields will be reviewed by the Administrative Committee to ensure data collected via the eFAR is congruent with School and department needs.
- The first section of eFAR contains several fields of biographical information that will only need to be entered once. If you would like your department administrative assistant to enter data into eFAR version 2 for you, please contact Arvind Jagannathan at Arvind@creighton.edu or 280-3287 so permissions can be adjusted.
- Requests for additional reports and/or data collection fields may be sent to Arvind Jagannathan at Arvind@creighton.edu or 280-3287.
